Cost & Reimbursement

Our services are based on fee for service. We do not have billing personnel and we require payment at the time of service. Your doctor will provide you with the documentation necessary for you to submit a claim to your insurance.

ModernDay HouseCall will charge a flat rate $240 per visit. The doctors will provide their patients with a billing slip describing the nature of medical services provided including their medical codes as well as with the copy of the physician’s chart note. It will be the patient’s responsibility to submit the claim to their insurance company.

The reimbursement will vary according to each individual’s insurance plan. Patients should contact their insurance carrier for specific information about their reimbursements

1. Will ModernDay HouseCall accept my insurance?

ModernDay HouseCall will charge you at the time of your visit. Your doctor will provide you with all claim related paperwork. You will need to send it to your insurance carrier to be reimbursed.

Usually, billing personnel in your physician’s office file claims to your insurance company. We do not have billing personnel. We have chosen to use our resources to provide our patients with the latest technology- express laboratory diagnostics. This enables our clients to get the best care at their convenience and in a timely manner.

Personal claim filing also makes it possible for anyone to use our services. By contrast most physicians restrict their practices to certain insurance plans constraining patient choices.

2. How much my will insurance reimburse me?

Traditionally a house call is more expensive than an office visit. A flat rate of $240 will include all services you get in the clinic, including vital signs measurements, pulse oximetry, glucose level, EKG with interpretation, nebulizer treatments etc.

We will be able to detect Strep, Influenza, Mono, RSV, Chlamydia, and do a urinalysis within 5-10 minutes using the same express tests as emergency room laboratories do. If more elaborate testing is needed we will collect and transport the blood samples to a hospital laboratory. Medication can also be administered as needed at the time of your visit.

Despite the fact that we will provide patients with a thorough examination, express laboratory testing and necessary medications, we will still charge the flat rate.

Insurance reimbursement may well be close to what the patient has paid to ModernDay HouseCall for the visit.
